DCT VulcanWool Non-Combustible Flat Roofs

DCT VulcanWool is a BBA approved insulation board, that in addition to thermal comfort, provides independently tested acoustic and fire resistance properties.

DCT VulcanWool is a stone wool insulation board faced with a mineral-coated white fleece, compatible with a wide range of adhered and mechanically-fixed waterproofing systems – including bitumen, single-ply, EPDM and liquid membranes, as well as green roof systems.

Relying on entrapped air for its thermal properties,
DCT VulcanWool insulation does not contain (and has never contained) gases that have ozone depleting potential (ODP) or global warming potential (GWP). DCT VulcanWool therefore complies with the relatively modest threshold of GWP<5.

• Fully bonded, partially bonded, mechanically fastened single-ply membrane systems and EPDM membrane systems
• Torch applied, bitumen based, and mastic asphalt built-up systems
• Liquid applied systems
• Green roof systems

DCT VulcanWool Acoustic Membrane is a high-density polymer mass layer that combines with DCT VulcanWool to offer enhanced acoustic performance for the very highest specifications.
DCT VulcanWool Acoustic Infills are tissue-wrapped trapezoidal shaped trough inserts, designed to enhance the acoustic absorption of perforated metal decks.

Thermal performance

The thermal conductivity of DCT VulcanWool roofing boards is 0.039 W/mK (@24oC) AS4859.1 2002

Resistance to moisture

DCT VulcanWool products consist of randomly orientated water repellent fibres that prevent moisture from working its way into the board.
Should any boards become wet during installation they should be allowed to dry out naturally, prior to applying the roof membrane.

Dimensional stability

DCT VulcanWool roofing boards are dimensionally stable when tested to EN 1604 and therefore do not exert any undesirable stress on the fixings or waterproof membrane.

Fire performance

DCT VulcanWool is manufactured from volcanic stone, which produces a non-combustible EU A1, EN 13501-1, AS1530.1
